Available evidence:
There is some uncertainty about the information concerning the origin of Charlotte Parsons. The Baptism record does not give the father's name suggesting Charlotte Wiggins Parsons was illigitimate. The middle name Wiggins does not appear on the marriagecertificate and Charlotte's father is given as Thomas Parsons. I suspect the IGI record has been compiled from information from both these sources. All the census records point to Charlotte being born in Tilbrook Bedfordshire but the Huntingdon Registrarhas no record of the birth. There is no matching record in the 1841 or 1851 census for Charlotte and I have been unable to locate either her father or William Parsons, a witness to the marriage. I have not seen a copy of the birth certificate listed inthe GRO index, so I do not know if this is the correct Charlotte Parsons.
